BBC Wildlife Magazine Photo of the Day

I was quite happy to find that this owl in flight was chosen as the "Photo of the Day" by the prestigious BBC Wildlife Magazine Team.

This Short-eared owl (Asio flammeus) is one of the many hundreds of images I've caught over a period of eight to nine years while following them each winter season.

This shot was taken at dusk when the owls leave there daytime roost to hunt for their favourite evening meal, the field vole.
